Adam is a leading authority on the interface between lexicography, language corpora and language technology. His company, Lexical Computing Ltd., provides web access to corpora for a range of languages through its Sketch Engine software. He has advised a number of dictionary companies and is a member of the Lexicography MasterClass which runs training courses on dictionary-making, corpus linguistics and lexical computing. He is pioneering the use of the web for linguistic research and has set up the Web as Corpus Special Interest Group of the Association for Computational Linguistics. He is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Universities of Leeds and Sussex.
