Cindy has been involved in English language teaching — as a teacher, teacher trainer, editor and author — for over 20 years. Originally from the USA, she has also lived and worked in Kenya, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the UK.
She moved from teaching into publishing in 1994 when she joined Longman ELT American English where she developed a number of courses for Latin America and Japan. She later became Multimedia Dictionaries Publisher in Longman Dictionaries where she was involved in a range of multimedia and online projects.
In 1998, she set up her ELT training and publishing consultancy business and now divides her time between writing, editing and teaching at Essex University.
She has been on the advisory panel for the Macmillan Essential Dictionary, the Macmillan School Dictionary, Macmillan Phrasal Verbs Plus, and the second edition of the Macmillan English Dictionary, as well as a contributor to MED Magazine.
