Guy Jackson
Electronic Publishing Manager
Guy studied theoretical linguistics at the universities of Newcastle and York, specialising ultimately in the relationship between language and gender.
In 1990, after teaching English in state and private schools in Montpellier and Béziers, France, he returned to England and joined the recently-established dictionary department of the University Press in Cambridge, where he worked as a lexicographer and editor on the print and electronic editions of the Cambridge International Dictionary of English and the Cambridge Learner's Dictionary.
Guy also freelanced on the Senseval and VerbNet projects, and advised on Americanisms in British English for the third edition of the Norstedts Comprehensive English-Swedish Dictionary.
Guy is now Electronic Publishing Manager for Macmillan Education, and works very closely with the Dictionaries team on the Electronic Dictionaries.
