MACMILLAN ENGLISH DICTIONARY NEW EDITION BALLOON RACE
BRAZIL, CHINA, GERMANY, ROMANIA, SPAIN, UK
- Entrants must provide their full name and address when entering the competition.
- Employees of Macmillan Publishers Limited and of any company associated with this promotion, and their families, are not eligible to enter.
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
- Each entrant will be assigned a red word. This will be printed on a card attached to the helium-filled balloon, which will be launched on the date specified by the organiser of each launch. The card is also printed with a return address, and space for the finder of the card to add his or her contact details, and the name of the place the card was found. The finder should return the card to the address printed on the card.
- The closing date for receipt of returned balloon cards is 31st July 2007.
- Within each launch country, the person whose red word is printed on the balloon card that travels the greatest distance from the launch site in kilometres will win a prize for two people, to be specified by the organisers of that balloon launch.
- The winners from each country will be entered into the final: The person who launched the balloon card that travelled the greatest distance from the launch site in kilometres will win a round-the-world air ticket.
- Every person who returns a balloon card with their full name and address, and the place they found it, will receive a copy of the Macmillan English Dictionary 2nd Edition, and will be entered into a prize draw to win another prize to be specified by the organisers of that balloon launch. Proof of the location at which the balloon card was found will be determined by the postmark.
- Balloon cards must have travelled at least 1km from the launch point in order to be eligible for the balloon race.
- Winners will be notified in writing within 28 days of the closing date. Only the winners will be contacted personally.
- The prize must be collected, if appropriate, within 28 days of notification.
- No cash alternative or alternative prize is available, but in the event of the advertised prize being unavailable we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
- The winner of the round-the-world ticket must be over the age of 16.
- Winners may be required to participate in publicity connected with the promotion.
- We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time.
- The decision of Macmillan Publishers Limited is final in every situation, including any not covered above and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them.
- Macmillan Publishers Limited will not pass your personal details to any other organisation without your permission, except for the purpose of awarding your prize if necessary.
- Macmillan Publishers Limited shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, damage whatsoever or personal injury suffered or sustained in relation to this prize and competition.
A list of winners can be obtained by sending an addressed envelope, after 1st September 2007, to Macmillan Education, Marketing Department, Between Towns Road, Oxford, OX4 3PP, UK
